6th/ 7th grade Gifted & Talented

Welcome to 6th & 7th grade Gifted and Talented!

Instructor: Janet Tims     Contact:       Conference: 7:50-8:40

I want to extend to you and your child my warmest welcome into my classroom. This will be my first year working as a Gifted Teacher. I am very excited about working with your child this year! I am available for parent meetings before school and after school with appointment. Please understand that if you email during the day, after my conference, I  may not get back to you until after school ends. I will do my best to answer emails within a 24 hour period, and as promptly as possible. A more detailed class expectation can be found on the Anahuac ISD Middle School website.

My philosophy for learning is that each child is unique, and each child learns in a different way. One of my jobs as a teacher is to help your child discover his or her individuality and work alongside with them to maximize it. I believe in hands-on experiences, and learning creatively. G/T students require differentiation and special instruction in the areas of content knowledge, product development, and research processes. We will work on a variety of topics relative to the different areas.. On occasion, the students may participate in a field trip or special event. It is my goal to create a community of learners who are committed to working hard and having fun. I want students to leave my classroom feeling confident that they can apply what they’ve learned in school to real-life situations. I want my students to feel challenged and to have an enhanced passion for learning.

Per 6 weeks:
